Deep Morocco (4WD Atlas Mountain Adventure) — 5 Days

Your adventure starts today, by leaving Marrakech behind and head north-east towards central high Atlas Mountains, taking our first break at the famous waterfall in Morocco Ouzoudwaterfall; we will take a walk to discover this interesting natural site which is part of Geo Park M’goun, we continue our drive towards the large town of Azilal where we will break for lunch, and you’ll visit the Geo-Park  Museum, thereafter you’ll carry on the afternoon journey passing several Berber villages and the beautiful landscape, the dam of Bin Elouidan built during early 20 century by French Army, Ouawizaght, Tilouguite known for the natural attractions of Wawmda known as Early Bathonian geologic formation in Morocco.

On the Arrival at Imi Nouarg village you’ll stay at a local comfortable guest house.

Morning Berber breakfast and then you’ll depart for the hike uphill through the juniper and pine woods to the summit of the isolate standing Mountain known locally as Mesfran. This beautiful natural mountain formed like a catholic Cathedral, which is why it nicknamed as the rock Cathedral (5400ft), you will be served your picnic lunch on top of this mountain, where you’ll feel the sound of peace as well as the dramatic landscape.

Also you can choose to go on a Kayaking and rafting experience descending the river, of Oued Ahansal and Assif Melloul, (the rafting and kayaking season is only from February to April).

In the afternoon you’re free to have some tea served by the stream, or you can wonder around the local village to meet with locals and, you can taste a cup of tea with local family.

Today you will depart for your next destination by driving through one of the most wild,stunning and winding roads of the high Atlas Mountains; you will take a break at the largevillage of Zaouit Ahansal, the name of the village refers to a Zaouia established by Muslim saints back in time during the 17th century; the family’s ancestor known locally as Dadda Said Ahansal.

This village is known for its famous canyon of Taghia, highly recommended by rock climbing lovers in the world.

Your journey keeps bringing up more surprises, by leading you to the lush and green valley of Ait Bougmmez known as happy valley, on the arrival you’ll be gone for a peaceful walk through the apple orchards and walnut trees, the valley is also famous for hand woven textiles by local women, it is possible to visit the local women cooperative of textiles. Afterwards youhosted into local guest house for the night and dinner.

The last day on your authentic Atlas mountain adventure will take you to discover more natural attractions and the hidden treasures of Berber heartland; you’ll take a break to see the famous natural bridge, another tourist natural attraction in Geo-park M’goun, which is formed of Limestone and Dolomite rock, you can take a walk downstairs to enjoy the dramatic view of this natural geological site. And then we might be hosted for a traditional home-style lunch, thereafter we continue on to Marrakech.
